'The Scholar' One Piece Shoulder Satchel (Downloadable Pattern)

A simple, dependable satchel. The main body of the satchel is made from just a single piece of leather, making this one of the simplest satchel designs there is.

Pattern includes both full sized (9” x 6-½”) and miniature (6-¼” x 3-½“) versions.

Tools required:

• A sharp knife

• Hole punch & hammer

Optional tools & Supplies:

• Steel ruler

• Edge beveler

• Edge burnisher

• Edge burnishing compound

Materials & Hardware required:

Full-Sized

• 5-6oz veg-tan leather (~2ftx2ft square & ¾“ x 60” strapping. A double shoulder should give you all the leather you need)

• x12 Chicago screws (1/8” post depth) or equivalent rivets

• x2 D-ring ¾“

• x2 swivel snaps ¾“

• x1 centre bar buckle ¾”

• x1 tuck lock 1-¼“

Mini-Sized

• 5-6oz veg-tan leather (~13”x15” square & ½“ x 60” strapping. A double shoulder should give you all the leather you need)

• x12 Chicago screws (1/8” post depth) or equivalent rivets

• x2 D-ring ½”

• x2 swivel snaps ½”

• x1 centre bar buckle ½”

• x1 button stud (9/32” or similar size)
